 Who We Are

Welcome to Canada Confesses, where passionate

Canadians unite to make a difference.

We provide a platform for marginalized communities to share their stories of injustice and a thriving hub for youth to create impactful projects. We are a newly registered nonprofit organization operating at a grassroots level.

October 2020

Two Black Undergrad Psychology Students crossed paths at On-Site Placement's Diversity Awareness & Skill Building Youth Program.

They wanted to do something in response to growing political apathy, digital misinformation, and

a lack of awareness of

social injustices in Canada.

Our co-founders envisioned a platform that could connect and amplify changemakers.

With limited resources and funding, they mobilized Canadians online to address these social issues.

Canada Confesses launched on February 19, 2021.

August 2022

We rallied Canadians online, and people showed up to support our cause.

Through our confessions portal, resource database, in-person outreach, and engaging social media campaigns, we've connected with over 50,000 Canadians.

Mission

Canada Confesses unravels the myth that Canada is free from racism and social inequalities.

In Canada, we often take pride in our multiculturalism and commitment to diversity, which is a global point of admiration. But the truth is that, like any other nation, Canada grapples with deep-rooted injustices.

Canada Confesses sheds light on these realities and challenges the misconception that some social problems are non-existent within our borders.

Vision

A tomorrow where Canada confesses its social injustices and commits to meaningful change.

By confessing Canada's past and present wrongdoings, our work lays the foundation for transformation at all levels. We believe that real change comes from a collective effort, so we actively engage with diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences.
